Racing fans in Britain and Ireland will be well aware that Channel 4 has been the home of horse racing for many years. Their reign is coming to an end but thankfully the broadcasting rights for horse racing haven't been bought up by a subscription channel. In fact, ITV have secured the rights to broadcast race meetings from Royal Ascot, Cheltenham, Goodwood and Derby just to name a few. ITV own the rights for a four year period starting from 2017 and they have undertaken to broadcast at least 30 days a year on their flagship station ITV 1.

If you watched live racing on your phone or tablet using Channel 4 On Demand then have no fear, ITV also have an iOS and Android compatible app that live streams the various ITV channels. The app is called ITV Hub and it's free to download from the iTunes App Store and Google Play markets. You will also be able to watch replays of the days racing thanks to their catch-up service.

Will Channel 4 still be showing the big Christmas races like the King George?
