Sky Broadcasting is one of the biggest television networks in the world. They also have a success sports betting and poker sub-division that has been capitalising on companies brand. Sky Poker have become the latest online poker room to release a real-money poker app for iPhone and Android devices like the HTC One, Google Nexus and Samsung Galaxy Note. Currently, the service is only available in United Kingdom, Finland, Ireland, Gibraltar and the Channel Islands. Sky Poker have developed a native iOS app that is available for download from the App Store. On Android devices you can just play from within your phone or tablets browser without having to install anything. The app currently offers Sit and Go tournaments and Texas Hold ’em, Omaha and Omaha hi lo cash games. If you have an iPhone/iPad and you live in the UK or Ireland, you can download the iOS app.
I was wondering the same thing about whether the Sky Poker app works on a Windows Phone tablet but I can't find anything on their support site. Since you play it from your phones browser I'm guessing that it will work on a Nokia Lumia. They do mention in the support section that Multi Table games are currently not possible.
Most HTML5 poker web apps work fine on most Windows Lumia smartphones even though the apps aren't officially supported. The poker sites just don't want to be flooded with support requests from Nokia Lumia users.
If you use the Sky Poker app on an iPhone you can now login using just your fingerprint thanks to Apple TouchID. My Samsung Galaxy T S has an inbuilt fingerprint scanner so I was wondering if this facility will also be available on Droids?
Samsung Galaxy have a larger market share of the smartphone market than Apple so I'm pretty sure that Sky Poker will soon add Android fingerprint authentication to their apps.
Just a note for anyone looking to download the Sky Poker app to their Android device, there actually isn't any native apk file that you can download. According to the Sky Poker FAQ section "There is not an Android app but all none iOS tablets can play on their tablet within a browser". They also go on to say that because of Google Play's current policy regarding real money gaming and sports betting apps they don't have any plans to develop a dedicated Android app anytime soon.
i like the fact that the sky poker app has automatic top-up. i hate having to leaves the tables when things are just hotting up. direct access to the skypoker strategy section is also a pretty useful feature.
sky poker is rubbish. the app keeps disconnecting and crashes every 20 minutes. don't waste your time.
