Over the past couple of years daily fantasy sports sites FanDuel and DraftKings have become increasingly popular in the United States where sports fans are deprived to ways to legally bet on their favourite NBA or NFL team. Unfortunately last year both companies began to experience some pushback as a string of states, including New York, Washington State and Arizona, banned fantasy sports betting. Hundreds of millions of dollars were invested in these companions who's potential audience has started to shrink dramatically. As a result they are making attempts to enter the UK betting market. Despite creating alliances with English Premier League clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool, it has been a slow start for the American companies. Large sports betting companies like William Hill and Ladbrokes are well established in England, Scotland and Wales so it's an extremely hard market to break into. It remains to be seem whether either of these companies can carve out a niche for themselves in the highly competitive UK betting market. Like in the US, both companions have managed to get their apps listed in the official iTunes App Store and Google Play.
Can you also place regular bets via the UK versions of those site or is it purely daily fantasy bets?
It is still just daily fantasy betting. You can't place regular bets on teams like you can with Paddy Power or Stan James.
