The London Olympics kick off on July 27th and I for one cannot wait. One solid month of non stop sports. Are any of the major bookmakers releasing apps specifically for the event? Considering how many different events are taking place every day, I think it might get a little crowded if they try to fit everything into their regular apps.
I really enjoyed the Euro 2012 soccer tournament. Now that that is over it's time to switch focus to the Olympics in just 3 week. I haven't come across any dedicated Olympics betting apps yet. I'm not sure how big a betting event the Olympics will be, my hunch is that it won't be a huge bonanza for the bookmakers in the same way that the Cheltenham horse racing festival or NBA playoffs are. I like the odd punt but I could count on one had the number of times I've bet on an Olympic event. For this reason I can't see the online sports betting companies developing betting apps specifically for the Olympics.
Paddy Power have created a London Olympics section to their website now. I'd image they'll be creating a similar section on their app shortly. They'll probably add the Olympics logo as well to the list of quick access icons. I'm curious to see what kind of betting offers and money-back specials they'll introduce for the events.

The biggest sporting event of the past few years is almost upon is. The London Olympics opening ceremony is this Friday. I'll be keenly watching all the track and field and boxing action from my sofa when I can
I'm just curious if anyone has been betting on the London Paralympics? I gotta confess I'm a little surprised by how much I've enjoyed the coverage, and I even got misty eyed a few times, but I haven't been betting on any of the sporting events.
