Betcade is the Google Play app store for real-money gambling apps

Until now, one of the biggest disadvantages of owning an Android device was the fact that you couldn't download a real-money casino, sports betting, lottery or poker app from the official Google Play app marketplace. iPhone owners in the UK, Australia, Canada and in dozens of other countries can download real money betting apps directly from the iTune App Store. This adds a level of security because you know that each app has been tested by Apple and doesn't contain any malware or viruses. Android users historically have been forced to either use a web-app or download an apk file onto their phone.

Things looks like they might be improving for Android mobile gamblers thanks to the launch of a new real-money gaming app store called Betcade. Here's a quick overview of the new app store.

• Betcade will review gaming apps and only permit quality apps from reputable companies.
• Via the BetCade app store, real-money gambling apps can be downloaded and installed directly to your Android device.
• Betcade will promote responsible gaming and allow players to set limits and controls.
• It will encompass a search feature that will make it easy to find the rights mobile sportsbook, poker room or casino game for you.
• For your security, Betcade will only list gaming apps that are fully licensed so no dodgy offshore operators will be allowed to list gambling apps in the Betcade apps store.

Initially the App Store will only be available in the UK.

 

I think it's highly unlikely that this will be available in the US because online gambling is illegal in some states.
