G'day!!! Any Aussies out there who can recommend a quality bookmaker app for Androids? I know the big european bookmaker apps cover the AFL and the NRL but I'm looking for an Android bookmaker app with a strong Australian focus that covers all the minor leagues and horse racing also.

    Cheers!!

Our vote goes to Bet365 Australia. They're the No.1 bookmaker's in Australia, they've got awesome mobile betting apps for both iPhone's and Android, plus they also run some very good promotions for both new players and existing customers.

    BET365 AUSTRALIA - WWW.WILLIAMHILL.COM.AU
    • Versions available for every type of smartphone or tablet.
    • Huge variety of mobile bet types and available on both Australian and international sports and racing markets.
    • Mobile media centre. Watch previews and replays of big sporting occasions on your phone.
    • Their mobile iForm section is the best form guide for horse racing fans. Greyhound and trots also covered.
    • Easily place multiples from your iOS, Windows or Android device.
    • Thousands of markets: Australian Rules Football, Cricket, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Football and Motor Racing.
    • World leaders when it comes to horse racing.
Here is a video demo of the Bet365 app.

Thanks. Can I watch live horse racing via any of these bookmaker apps? I'm not a huge horse racing fan but I would like to be able to watch The Melbourne Cup, The Victoria Derby, Cox Plate, Crown Oaks, Australian Cup and the Caulfield Cup from my phone or tablet?

Do any of the Australian bookmaker apps support live in-play betting?

For now they do but the Australian government seems to be cracking down on live in-play betting. According to the BBC they plan to ban live betting odds during games from being broadcast on television and radio during games.

Are any of the Aussie bookies running promotions for The Ashes cricket series?

    Hi Mackintosh

No, unfortunatley you cannot a present watch any live sports via the Sportsbet iOS, Android, Nokia or Windows Phone app. If you would like to watch football, cricket, backetball, soccer, bowls, tennis, rugby or hockey games live from you smartphone you should check out the Bet365 app. Their bookmaker app covers every major Australian sport and they also offer a very geneous sign-up bonus.

Does your phone need to be Flash enabled to watch the Bet365 sports streams? I have an older Android tablet that doesn't have flash :-(

No you don't require Adobe Flash on your tablet or smartphone as all the videos use HTML5 instead which work on virtually every phone and browser :)

I think the Bet365 app blows the competition out of the water. They've developed a specific app for the Australian sports betting and horse racing markets that cover just about every conceivable Aussie sport and league.

They also offer great multi offer deals for both footy (NRL, AFL, Super Rugby) and A-league soccer. http://www.androidbettingapps.com/bet365-sports-mobile-bookmaker.html

IASbet have also ceased operating and is now part of SportsBet. Both companies were owned by PaddyPower so I guess it made more sense to combine the customer base.

I signed up with SportsBet last week for the Melbourne Spring Carnival because they had the best sign-up bonus. The app is pretty good but it's a shame they don't offer live video of Australian horse races. I would have loved to see Hucklebuck romp home to victory to win the Emirates Stakes.

It is a pity that none of the Australian bookmakers live stream horse racing from Australia racetracks. Being able to watch individual UK and Irish horse races from your phone in return for a £1 bet is an excellent service. Since Sky Racing own the broadcasting rights I can't see things changing anytime in the near future.

I read in the paper at the weekend that the Sportingbet, Centrebet and Tom Waterhouse brands will be retired following a merger with William Hill. Over the coming months all the player accounts will be transferred to William Hill Australia.

i really like the new william hill australia app because it has a much better horse and dog racing section. the form guide is great and it's easy to navigate between racecourses.

Ladbrokes Australia have released an Apple Watch app that lets you check odds, get live scores and results and even place bets from the watch. Unfortunately the app only works in conjunctions with the Ladbrokes iOS app for iPhone.

SportsBet Australia have now upgraded their iPhone and Android apps to support live sports stream. Download the SportsBet Australia app now to watch rugby, cricket, tennis, US basketball and European soccer leagues on your iPhone or Android smartphone.

You can also watch all Victorian horse races for free.
