Hey, I've been playing the new PKR app on my iPad for the past few weeks and I have to admit it's awesome. Easily the best mobile poker app in my opinion. The graphics are incredible and the competition is as weak as always, which is the perfect combination as far as I'm concerned. https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/pkr-3d-poker/id576723482?mt=8 Anyway, even though I use the Apple tablet I prefer to use a Samsung phone but PKR still haven't released an Android version yet? Does anyone know if it's in the pipeline and when it will be available?
I'd love to play this app on my Droid also. I'm guessing because the graphics are more sophisticated than regular mobile poker games, it might be quiet tricky to get it to work on different sizes of screens.
According to an official source on the PKR forum "Some work has started for Android". The PKR spokesperson said this back in December 2012 so hopefully an Android version will be ready by the second half on 2013.
Yes, PKR 3D Android poker is now available to download from PKR Mobile. Since it is a real money gambling app it cannot be downloaded from Google Play/Android Market. The apk file needs to be installed directly from the pkr website.
Any idea if PKR plan to release their 3D app in the United States? I'd love to see how the graphics look on my Samsung Galaxy Note.
Sorry to bring you bad news but I can't see Apple approving the PKR app until online poker is legalized in the United States first.
The apk file is over 400mb so they're never going to be able to offer that via a browser so until online and mobile poker is legalised in the America, U.S. players are out of luck.
Yes, if you want to try the PKR app you should definitely download it using a WiFi connection. Many smartphone owners now have a half gig monthly cap, which would be quickly used up if you tried to download this app. It might be faster and cheaper to download and install the app in a Starbucks or somewhere that offers free Wifi.
It took me about 10 minutes to download the PKR app to my Motorola Droid X last night but it was worth the wait. It's by far the most advanced real money Omaha and Texas Hold'em app on the market right now.
PKR have now also released a 2D version for anyone how doesn't have the space on their phone or the inclination to play 3D poker.
To reduce the file size have they just stripped down the graphics or have they they also removed some of the features and options that are available from the 3D client?
I tested the 2D version of the PKR iOS/Android app at the weekend and the good news is the features are identical to the 3D app. The only difference is the the playing environment is different but you can still play Sit and Go tournaments and Hold'em ring games. I think the pkr app is one of the best real money poker app available but many players are put off by the 3D graphics. They just think that it's some kind of gimmick. For this reason I'm glad they've released a 2D version because it may attract a whole new group of players to the online poker room.
if you're looking for soft competition then this is your room. plenty of inexperienced players attracted by the graphics.
hands down the pkr 3d app has the best graphics but be aware that playing it will drain your phones battery pretty quickly. if you haven't got much juice in your phone the 2d version is a better option.
PKR are no longer an independent. They recently completed a move to the Microgaming Poker Network. The PKR player pool is now 6 times larger. PKR tournaments now offer over $12 million in monthly prizes. You can compete in 4 times as many tournaments each and every day. Players can now claim up to 25% cashback. PKR poker is still available on iOS and Android devices. Try the new PKR poker today.
I wish PKR would develop a HTML5 poker app so I can play it on my iPad. The iOS PKR app is only available in a handful of European countries.
