Can anyone recommend a decent peer-to-peer betting app for Android devices? Most of my friends have iPhone's and use YouBetMe.com and Gamblino.com but neither have a version for Samsung, Motorola, HTC or any Droids yet. YouBetMe are currently beta testing a Google Play version so hopefully that will be ready in time for the start of the NFL season, but if not I'd really appreciate some recommendations.

Basically I'd like to be able to challenge my mates to bet on major United States sports like NBA basketball, football or baseball.

    Thanks

I use SideBet which is available to download free from their the iTunes App Store or from Google Play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.BlueOx.Sidebets

It allows you to bet with your friends on NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, College Football and College Hoops games. You can bet any amount you like and real-time betting odds are supplied from real bookmakers. You can also see how your team is doing via the live scores section.

facebook is the biggest social network so are there any social betting apps for that? it would make sense for these companies to jump on the back of facebook since everybody already has accounts there. since you're not gambling for real money i doubt there would be any legal problems.

Paddy Power have actually done this in the United Kingdom where you can download the Paddy Power Social app for Facebook. This lets you connect with your friends on Facebook to see what your mates are betting on. A leaderboard will quickly settle any arguments about who's got the best betting record. It also makes it super easy to copy bets of friends who've had lots of success in particular fields.

have fantasy betting apps like fan duel and draft kings now replaced these? me and my friends have been running an NFL betting competition on draft kings since the start of the season.

Many of the early social betting apps have shut-down unfortunately. It turns out people just prefer to lose their money to a bookmaker rather than to their friends. That hasn't stopped a couple of new companies from trying to break into the market again. For instance, Every Fan is an iOS/Android social betting app that is aimed at the soccer/football betting market in the United Kingdom. WantMyBet is a similar app that is aimed at European soccer tournaments and leagues.
