Even though Unibet don't have a big presence in the UK or Ireland, they are one of the biggest online gambling companies in Belgium, the Netherlands and the Nordic region. They currently have 10 million customers in over 90 countries making them one of the biggest online and mobile betting, poker, casino and bingo sites in the world.

Unibet have recently released a real money poker poker app for iPad and Android tablets such as the Google Nexus 9, Amazon Kindle Fire HDX or Nvidia Shield Tablet. The iOS version can be downloaded directly from the App Store in a limited number of countries, while Unibet for Android tablets can be downloaded directly from the Unibet website in most countries (except for the United States).

Unibet have obviously decided that they aren't going to be able to compete with the big brands like PokerStars and 888 when it comes to attracting serious poker players so instead they've opted to go after the more casual players. If you keep in mind that the Unibet poker app is geared more towards recreational players, I think they've done a pretty good job. The graphics are a little too cartoony for my liking but the software runs smoothly and they offer Sit and Go tournaments in addition to regular cash games of Texas Hold'em, which should keep most players happy.

The lack of trackers and HUDs will put off the sharks which makes it a great option for anyone new to online poker.

nice to see an app that doesn't take itself too seriously. when I play poker on my phone it's generally just for some light entertainment. i think unibet have done a good job developing an app for the casual mobile players like me.

Sounds like a fun poker app. Does anyone know if they're planning to release a version for phones too? I don't own an iPad or an Android tablet :-(

Yes, a Unibet poker app for iPhone and Android smartphones is in development and should be available sometime in the second half of 2015.

the new unibet poker app is a lot more fun than the old microgaming version. they regularly update and add new missions which is great.

It's my favorite poker room for small stakes tournaments now. At the moment only Hold'em and Omaha games are available, which is something they could look at.

I'm surprised it's taken this long myself. They have a "Play In Browser" version but sadly it doesn't work on iOS and Android devices. Perhaps they feel tablets are a better platform for recreational poker gaming.

Unibet left Microgaming back in 2014 and launched their own standalone network. It's not the busiest of poker rooms but it attracts a lot of recreational players so you'll find plenty of soft competition.

No. They are releasing Unibet Poker 2.0 soon but as far as I'm aware the new version will be strictly for iOS and Android tablets.
