Up until now horse racing punter in the United States have gotten a pretty raw deals when it comes to bookmaker apps for horse racing. A couple of bookmaker have released U.S. friendly sports betting apps but they've tended to focus solely on basketball, golf, football, baseball etc and completely ignore horse racing.

About time!!! For some reason sporstbooks in the US seemend to focus solely on NFL, NBA, Golf etc. I know us Americans love our basketball, football and baseball but horse racing is also a massive sports and up until now we've largely been ignored.

Even though it's far better than anything else on offer, there are a couple of features missing that I think would make it really great.
    1. Live Video Streams of Horse Races - If you place a bet on a horse race using one of the major UK or Irish bookmakers, you are then able to watch that race on your iPhone, iPad, Samsung Galaxy, Google Nexus etc. It would be great if we were also able to watch live horse races or even replay here in the states.
    2. Horse Racing Tips & Betting Advice - Many of the large European betting sites offer independent horse racing tips from jockeys, industry experts, newspapers and racing journals. All you need to do is look at the racecard of any race on your phone to see exactly which horses are being tipped and by who. Surely it would be easy enough to implement something similar for U.S. racing punters. Maybe they're afraid we'd take them to the cleaners if we had a little too much information.

To answer your first question, none of the current batch of U.S. horse racing bookmakers stream live horse racing on either their websites or smartphone apps. The good news is you can still watch live horse racing from approximately 40 participating racetracks via the HorseRacesNow.com app. This is a free app that is available on both iOS and Android devices which offers live video and replays of US racing, overnight entries and racecards, immediate racing results, push notifications when your favourite jockey/trainer/horse is running and the ability to share information via social media or e-mail.

Awesome, thanks so much such a detailed reply. The Horse Races Now app is awesome, hopefully the remaining racetracks will climb on board soon. Is there any way that someone in the United States can watch horse races from the United Kingdom, Australia and Ireland on their phones or tablets?

Yes it's possible to watch horse racing from the United Kingdom on your smartphone but unfortunately it will set you back about £10 a month if you want to subscribe to Racing UK. Their iPhone, iPad and Android apps broadcasts live racing from some of the UK's biggest racecourses, including Cheltenham, Aintree, Newbury, Goodwood, Kempton, Sandown, Newmarket and Epsom.

Here is the Google Play version - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chroma.ruk.android.activity

    Here is the iPhone/iPad version - https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/racing-uk-on-iphone/id352776768?mt=8

Even if you don't subscribe, they free section has an excellent racing news, tipping and form section.

Does the Carbon racebook app only offer betting lines from racetracks in the US? For instance, if I have an account with Carbon, will I bet able to bet on major racing festivals like Royal Ascot and Cheltenham from my phone?

BetOnline have recently begun to accept Bitcoin for deposits and withdrawals. Will Carbon let me fund my account using Bitcoin?

No, CarbonSports do not accept bitcoin. There are a few bitcoin only bookmakers but they don't cover horse racing. If you want to bet on horse racing using bitcoin then BetOnline is your best option.

No, not right now. For a while Bovada allowed you to wager on major races like the Kentucky Derby or the English Grand National from their app but they have since removed that feature.

the other US racebooks suck so I might give them a try. the offer of a $25 risk free bet is a pretty tempting offer.
