United States sports fans have plenty of options when it comes to placing bets on basketball, football, baseball or any other sporting event on their iPhone, Blackberry or Android device. However, horse racing fans have not been very well catered for until now. BetOnline, of the largest U.S. online and mobile betting company, have just added horse race betting to their mobile app.

U.S. citizens can now place bets on horse races from every racecourse in the United States, including Belmont Park, Churchill Downs, Del Mar, Gulfstream Park, Hollywood Park, Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, Oaklawn Park, Pimlico, Delaware Park, Golden Gate Fields, Tampa Bay Downs, Canterbury Park, Emerald Downs, Philadelphia Park, Philadelphia Park, Pompano Park and Yonkers.

Visit BetOnline for full details of their iPhone, Android, Windows Phone (Nokia Lumia) or BlackBerry compatible horse racing and sports betting app.

A brand new horse race betting app is now available for United States citizens that blows both the Bovada and BetOnline racebook apps out of the water. Carbon Sports have added a racing section to their U.S. friendly bookmaker app that offers full coverage from every thoroughbred, harnesss and greyhound racecourse in the United States. Some major racecourses in the United Kindom and Ireland are also covered.

Carbon Mobile works on virtually every smartphone, whether you are using an iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, HTC, LG, HTC, Nokia Lumia or any other phone with an internet connection.

What sets Carbon apart from the competition is that they offer a wider coverage of betting markets than any other US racing apps. For instance, the Bovada racebook app only offers betting futures on the triple crown of U.S. thoroughbred racing (Preakness, Kentucky, Belmont) and a few other major international races like the UK Grand National and the Melbourne Cup Their racecard is also more detailed than the competition with information on the trainer/jockey, a form guide and betting odds.

I think they pretty much cover every racetrack in the USA. Looking at the app today, they're offering odds on every race from Aqueduct, Beulah Park, Calder Race Course, Charles Town, Dundalk (Ireland), Fair Grounds, Golden Gate Fields, Gulfstream Park, Hawthorne, Kempton Park, Lingfield Park, Louisiana Downs, Mountaineer Park, Newbury Racecourse, Oaklawn Park, Penn National, Philadelphia, Remington Park, Sam Houston Race Park, Santa Anita Park, Sunland Park, Tampa Bay Downs, Turf Paradise, Turfway Park, Will Rogers and Wolverhampton Racecourse (UK).

It's also worth nothing that the sports betting section of the Carbon app is equally impressive. It looks great and is extremely responsive and easy to navigate. From the top of the app you can access the most popular bets and there is quick links to games in major U.S. leagues like NBA, MLB and NHL. Other global sports like soccer, boxing/MMA, gold, tennis and auto racing are also covered in details.

If you're a fan of poker Carbon also allows you to play real money Texas Hold'em on any type of smartphone or tablet in the United States. Sit & Go's are also available if you prefer to compete in tournaments.

We have to admit that the BetOnline mobile racebook isn't our favourite U.S. horse race betting app because it doesn't display the betting odds in the racecard. Instead you need to select your horse, bet type and enter your wager amount before the app will display the payout amount. This is a little frustrating but since there aren't many other U.S. iOS/Android horse racing apps available it is something we'll need to put up with for now. You can find more information on the BetOnline iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, HTC and Motorola app http://www.androidbettingapps.com/betonline-usa-horse-race-betting-app.html

I agree, the app should display the latest betting odds in the racecards before you enter your wager amount. Quiet often I won't put on a bet unless I know the horse is good value.

BetOnline has recently begun to accept Bitcoin as a deposit and payment method. Bitcoin is a great way to avoid paying bank charges and to remain completely anonymous.

No, there is still a processing fee of about 2%. The key benefit is that you'll have your winnings in your bitcoin account within 48 hours rather than having to wait a couple of weeks for a check or bank draft.

No the racebook app is still there on all mobile devices. Once you login you will be able to see the horse racing section.
