    UPDATE AUGUST: 2016

Bovada Poker is no longer accepting U.S. players and they have moved their online poker room over to a new site call Ignition Casino. Ignition Poker is a carbon copy of Bovada Poker and has the same player based.

    =============================================

United States poker players now have another real money iPhone and Android poker site to play on in addition to the already popular Carbon Poker Mobile app. The Bovada app is compatible with Android and iOS phones and tablets. According to their website you need to be using an iPhone 4 or above but since it's a web based app we don't see why it wouldn't also work on an iPhone 3GS.

What is impressive is that US citizens for the first time have the options of playing either Texas Hold'em, Omaha or Omaha Hi/Lo on their phones. Play money games are also available if you want to try out their mobile software first before you deposit. The new US Bodog app offers "Zone" games, which is a high-speed, fast fold poker format not unlike Zoom from PokerStars or Rush from Full Tilt.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD THE BOVADA MOBILE POKER APP
    1. You'll first need to visit Bovada to create a new account. Registering via the main website is generally faster and you'll be able to take advantage of their sign-up offers too.
    2. Once your new player account is created, get your iPhone, iPad, Samsung Galaxy etc and browse to m.bovada.lv
    3. You'll be give 3 mobile options, "Sports", "Casino" or "Poker". Choose poker obviously and start playing Texas Hold'em and Omaha cash games in the USA.

What's the difference between Bodog and Bovada? I used to play at Bodog all the time before they withdrew from the US market so I'd definitely be interested in giving this app a try. Bodog used to have some of the softest games available anywhere.

To avoid legal problems, Bodog split into Bodog for Canadian players and Bovada for U.S. citizens. Both companions use exactly the same software so the only thing that is different is the name.

You can read more about the Bovada/Bodog here in our full review of their poker app http://www.androidbettingapps.com/bovada-usa-bodog-canada-mobile-poker.html

What about European based player? When I try to sign-up from the UK or Ireland I get a message saying that Bovada is not available in your region.

The Bovada poker app is only available to players in the United States. Canadian players can sign-up at Bodog, which offers identical software.

i don't understand why bovada would release a u.s. friendly poker app with fast fold games before regular texas holdem ring games. i like playing speed poker occasionally but i think most players would prefer if they developed ring games first.

Texas Hold'em, Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo ring games are now available to Bovada mobile poker players in addition to Zone high-speed poker games.

Has anyone had any success playing Bovada poker on Windows Phone device like a Nokia/Microsoft Lumia tablet?

On their mobile poker page they only have the Apple and Android logos so I'm guessing that it's not officially compatible with Windows Phone 10. It only takes a couple of minutes to sign-up so why not give it a try. Try a few different browsers and maybe one of them will work.

It's nice that you can play at practice tables too if you're not in the mood for cash games.

No, unfortunately at the moment the Bovada mobile site only supports cash games and fast fold poker. We do expect them to add tournaments to their poker app in the near future.

In my experience it's pretty easy. Bovada have a higher credit card acceptance rate than Carbon Poker, Black Chip Poker or Americas Cardroom.

Lock Poker shutdown last year and took their players money with them.

The good news is Bovada now accept bitcoin which makes deposits and withdrawals much faster and easier for US citizens.

Has anyone else been experiencing delays withdrawing bitcoin from Bovada over the past week?

Yes. There was a temporary backlog caused by an influx of poker players withdrawing their funds because Bovada Poker was closing. Once the backlog is cleared, payout times should return to normal if they haven't already.
