I want to watch free live streams of horse races from Australia. Particularly from the Sydney and Victorian race meeting. Are there any apps that offer live streams or even live commentary from Australian racetracks.

You should be able to watch live racing from a lot of Australian racetracks, including Rosehill, Canterbury & all Melbourne tracks, via the Racing Network live stream here - http://www.racingnetwork.com.au/Vision/video_popout.aspx? The live racing videos should work on any android phone that supports flash. Enjoy

No, even though many of the major Australian online bookmakers like SportingBet and SportsBet have been bought by William Hill and Paddy Power they still do not offer a "Bet and Watch" service via their website or apps. I'm sure they would love to be able to stream live racing because it is a great way to attract new customers but unfortunately Sky Racing own most of the broadcasting rights. Sky want people to subscribe to their racing channel so it's unlikely that they will allow any other company to stream racing from Sydney or Victoria etc.
I was a SportingBet customer so I was a little apprehensive when I heard that I'd have to switch over to the William Hill app. I needn't have worried, the WH app is probably better for horse racing fanatics like myself. The racing form is great and it's easy to navigate through the various racecards. All it's missing is live streaming.
