    USA POKER UPDATE (SEPTEMBER 2016)

Ignition USA Poker is the new home for Bovada Poker after the major U.S. online poker room were forced to stop offering real money poker via the Bovada website. Ignition Poker utilises the same player pool and uses Idential poker clients so only the name has changed.

    CARBON POKER WARNING

Many US players at Carbon have had to wait many months to withdraw money from their accounts. We would advise real money poker players to avoid Carbon until they have resolved their banking problems.

The safest real-money poker app for US-based players is from Bovada who are owned by gambling giants Bodog. Their Texas Hold'em and Omaha mobile poker site is compatible with iPhone and Android.

    ==========================================================================

Even though real money poker apps have been a reality for over 2 years now, poker players in the United States have been deprived of a real-money mobile poker app since the closure of Full Tilt Poker back in April 2011. That looks set to change with the imminent release of a new Texas Hold'me poker app that will be compatible with Android and iOS mobile devices. Here is what we know so far about the latest U.S. Android poker app.
    • The Carbon Poker app will be web based to avoid any geographic restrictions associated with getting the app approved by Apple.
    • United States poker players will be welcome to play real-money poker on their phones and tablets
    • The Carbon Poker app will only offer cash games. There will be no Play-For-Fun options.
    • The app will be released for the iPhone and iPod Touch initially with the Android version to follow shortly after.
    • Carbon Poker are currently looking for players to test the new iOS and Android apps before they make them available to the public.

HOW TO PLAY THE CARBON POKER APP RIGHT NOW

Carbon Poker have finished testing their new U.S. friendly poker app internally and are currently looking for poker players to try out the new mobile client. Here's how to participate in the beta tests...
    1. Sign-up for an account at CarbonPoker if you haven't already got one.
    2. Send an email to viphost@carbonpoker.ag asking to be included in the beta testing process.
    3. Enjoy playing real money mobile poker in the United States.

Visit our Poker section for information on other poker apps.

UPDATE - Carbon Poker have now given all their players open access to try out their new app. Just follow these simple steps to start playing real-money Texas Hold'em anywhere in the world, including the USA.

    1. You obviously need a Carbon Poker account so sign-up here if you haven't got one.

    2. Get your phone or tablet out and browse to Carbon Poker

    3. Login and enjoy ;)

Remember that the app is still being developed and tested so you may come across some bugs.

Whooohoooooo!!!! About time. I can't believe it has taken this long for us players in the United States to finally get our hands on a real-money app. They're a decent poker room too so I'm expecting a pretty slick app.

Hallelujah, at last a real-money Android poker app for U.S. players. Thanks you Carbon Poker. When Full Tilt released their Rush Poker app I downloaded it straightaway and loved playing it on my commute to the office. It's been so long it seems like a distant memory at this point. More information please!!!!!! If anyone get an early test version please give us your first impressions.

good news indeed but are web apps as good as native apps? i use sportsbook web apps which are fine but poker clients are much more process intensive so i wonder if they will be able to run as smoothly as apps you install from the google play?

My experience of web apps over the past couple of years has been mostly positive. I think if you go back 3 or 4 years there was a big difference in terms of performance and graphics. Nowadays I think they are pretty much identical regardless of whether you are playing poker, blackjack or sports betting on your Droid.

I'm sure there will be teething problems but I'll be surprised if Carbon Poker don't release a pretty slick mobile client.

This is going go really upset PokerStars. I can see the traffic at Carbon Poker multiplying by 10 as soon as this app arrives. How many Americans spend hours every day commuting to work in buses, cars and trains who'll now be able to play cash games on their phones. The mobile traffic won't be split between PartyPoker, Bwin, PokerStars, Terminal Poker and mFortune like it is in the rest of the world. They're going to get 100% of the U.S. traffic. It's always good to see some new competition.

I'm really looking forward to being able to play against fishy United States competition again. The PokerStars app is great but play is pretty tight and it's hard to make any serious money. Really looking forward to this U.S. Carbon poker app.

This is really excellent news. I really miss the days before black Friday when poker rooms were full of fish. Even if the graphics aren't great to begin with, I'm still looking forward to playing against some soft competition again and making a quick buck.

Great news. As soon as they add Sit N Go tournaments I'll be signing up.

Although Carbon Poker have yet to add Multi Table Tournaments or Sit & Go tournaments, the U.S. friendly poker app is now offering high speed turbo poker via their mobile app.

Does Carbon allow players from every state and city in the USA? For instance, does it matter whether you live in New Jersey, New York, California, Boston or Chicago?

Yes, the Carbon Pokerreal-money poker app is now available in across the USA. I personally know iPhone and Android players in Florida, Washington, Nevada, Carolina, Texas and Illinois who have signed up and played cash games from their Google Nexus 7, Motorola Droid X, Samsung Galaxy Note 2, HTC EVO 4G and Amazon Kindle Fire.

Is the app available in every U.S. state or are there some restrictions?

Carbon Poker is on the merge network, which welcomes US players from everywhere except New Jersey and Delaware.

    Hope that help :)
