888poker is hugely popular on both Android and iOS devices because it combines cutting edge software with great promotions and a high-traffic player pool. They are also one of the few online poker rooms legally allowed to operate in certain parts of the United States. 888 poker players were left a little dismayed this week when they received an email notifying them that 888 poker were withdrawing both their online and mobile poker service in Australia. Players were told that they would no longer be welcome at the 888 tables from the 17th of January, 2017. After this date players would only be able to withdraw their funds using the cashier.

Sadly this move comes as a result of the Australian governments draconian news anti-gambling legislation that seeks to stamp out online casino gambling and even games of skill like poker. The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) have threatened online gamblers operators will millions of dollars in daily fines. Company executive who fail to withdraw from the Australian online gambling marketplace will be put on the "Movement Alert List" and will be arrested the second they touchdown on Australian territory.

888poker are one of the first major players to leave Australia, although we can expect similar announcements from Full Tile, PartyPoker and PokerStars in the coming weeks.

The good news is that most bitcoin gambling sites will continue to operate as normal in Australia. Here is a list of BTC poker rooms that accept Australian players http://forums.androidbettingapps.co...ndroid-bitcoin-poker-app-recommendation.6870/
