Do any online bookmakers accept PayPal?

I do quiet a bit of shopping online these days so rather than waste time filling in countless payments forms with my personal information and credit card details, I've started using PayPal for all my payments. It's more secure and everything is done in a couple of clicks. I know pretty much every online store now accepts PayPal but I haven't seen it offered by online sportsbooks and I was wondering why not?

Actually most online bookies accept deposit and withdrawals using PayPal these days. Unfortunately, for legal reason PayPal will not process gambling transactions in certain jurisdictions so if you don't see PayPal listed as a deposit method it may be due to the fact that you're based somewhere like the United States.

The good news is PayPal is available if you live in the UK, Ireland, Australia and most of the continent of Europe. Most bookmakers list PayPal friendly countries in their FAQ sections. Our recommendations would be...

    PAYPAL FRIENDLY BOOKMAKERS

    Bet365 (biggest global sportsbook) - www.Bet365.com

William Hill (top UK bookie) - www.WilliamHill.com

Bet365 Mobile (by far the best mobile bookmaker) http://www.androidbettingapps.com/bet365-sports-mobile-bookmaker.html

    Paddy Power Mobile - http://www.androidbettingapps.com/paddypower-mobile-sports-betting.html

You can find more information on the type of gambling activities that PayPal prohibits here https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/helpcenter/helphub/article/?solutionId=FAQ915&topicID=&m=ARA

Another cool development we've come across is the introduction of "Quick Registration" using PayPal. Ladbrokes now allow their mobile customers to quickly register in a couple of clicks via their PayPal accounts. This means you won't have to fill all the sign-up forms and enter your credit card details to make a deposit. Instead you can opt to register using your PayPal credentials and deposit funds in a matter of seconds.

PayPal Quick registration is an fantastic idea for mobile devices. Having to fill in pages on forms using a small keyboard puts me off trying new apps. Since PayPal already have my personal details it makes sense that I should be able to join a mobile poker room or bookmaker as quickly as I buy something on eBay using PayPal.

I wonder why they only offer the quick registration for new mobile customers? It would also be useful to be able to register from your PC or Mac using PayPal.

Probably because filling out the registration form using a small smartphone keyboard puts too many people off creating an account.

Yes, BetOnline now allow their players to use bitcoin for deposit and payouts. They promise to process the payouts within 48 hours and the processing fee is only 2%.

Because they are operating off-shore in a legal grey area so PayPal doesn't want to associate themselves with anything illegal.

What is Venmo? Is it the same as PayPal?

Venmo is a digital wallet that easily allows you to pay people instantly. I've never used it but it looks pretty similar to PayPal to me and it's also owned by PayPal.
